Animal rescue in Tempe seeking foster homes during renovation

PHOENIX – Lost Our Home Pet Rescue in Tempe is desperately looking for people to take in pets while the shelter is being renovated.

All shelter dogs and cats must be out by May 5 in order for construction to begin on May 6, according to a news release.

Lost Our Home is looking for short and long term foster homes ranging from 2 weeks to 90 days.

The pet shelter can cover the cost of supplies and medical needs, including kennels, food, bottles and beds, according to the statement.

Although the shelter is located in Tempe near Broadway Road and Hardy Drive, it welcomes host families from all over the valley.

Interested persons are invited to complete the request for dog or cat accommodation on the shelter’s website.

Lost Our Home Pet Rescue is also hosting a garage sale on Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to noon that will include pet supplies, office furniture and more.

The renovation will include adding a new medical room, improving safety and sanitation features, increasing capacity and improving the overall comfort of animals in the shelter.

Lost Our Home is a no-kill shelter that was founded in 2008 and is home to 100 dogs and cats.
