Animals are safe, van found after loaded Unleashed Pet Rescue van was stolen early Tuesday


An animal rescue group from Mission, Kansas, says all animals are safe. Someone stole their van with animals still inside this morning. Unleashed Pet Rescue posted on Facebook saying that a shelter employee was loading dogs into the van from the shelter at 5918 Broadmoor Street when hopped into the van and took off. The shelter said dogs were inside the van when it was picked up. The van was found just over two hours after it was stolen, destroyed in Kansas City, Kansas. All the animals were still inside the van and safe. Officials at the shelter said the van was loaded to take the pets to a sterilization / sterilization site when it was stolen. The keys to the van are still missing, as are the personal keys and the shelter volunteer’s wallet. The suspect has not been located.
