OnFocus – Last week, the Central Wisconsin Country Store donated “welcome bags” to adopters at the Marshfield Area Pet Shelter.

The bags contained puppy or dog food samples, treats, toys, coupons to use at the store, and a booklet to help new owners with their pets.

Kim Ohaugherty of the Central Wisconsin Country Store said they wanted to help new owners know there is a place for them to get food and pet supplies locally.

“We wanted to join a partnership there,” Ohaugherty said. “We wanted people to know that we are there for them for their dog food needs. “

In the age of sitting on sofas and ordering produce, the experience of Central Wisconsin Country Store employees is something that cannot be purchased online. The bags were more than just a promotion, as Ohaugherty said the store just wanted people to know that their products are tested and approved by the employees themselves.

“Everyone who works here is animal lovers,” Ohaugherty said. “The items that we have here, we make an effort to test everything and study everything so that we know what we are selling. We want to make sure that we only sell the best quality products.

In a Facebook post, Marshfield Area Pet Shelter thanked the Country Store for their generous gift.

“Thanks to Central Wisconsin Country Store – Provision Partners Cooperative for putting together these ‘welcome bags’ for us to give to our adopters,” the post said. “What a thoughtful idea! “
