Chili Cook-Off planned to help Yakima Valley Pet Rescue

A popular chili kitchen is back this month helping fund the Yakima Valley Pet Rescue and Adoption Center. The YVPR Chili Cook-Off event is scheduled for October 15 in the Modern Living Building at State Fair Park in Yakima. Tickets are available now at If you attend, you’ll be treated to unlimited chili, cornbread, nachos, hot dogs, and dessert. Plus, you’ll have the chance to name a winner in the chili competition by judging the best recipe.

A press release says the event “also includes a beer and wine bar, silent and live auctions and live music from DieBruder.” The event is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year that helps Yakima Valley Pet Rescue give the homeless a second chance. and neglected animals. YVPR officials say the annual budget is built through donations and contributions from local businesses and the community, so the Chili Cook-Off is essential to saving more animals in Yakima.
