DEAR SUN SPOTS: Where can I find someone who repairs and sells manual typewriters? — No name, no city

RESPONNSE: Cosco Technologies (377-2897) at 50 Bearce Road in Winthrop is where you want to bring your typewriter for repair and learn about old but restored goodies. They have a Facebook page with information and you can email the company at [email protected]. I have seen their work and it is impressive.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: A friend graduated from Fryeburg Academy and she told me it was a private school which was also the local public school. I do not understand. Can you explain why? — Vanessa, no town

RESPONNSE: The short answer is that Fryeburg Academy is a private, independent school that welcomes students in grades 9-12 (and a postgraduate year) from all over the world. However, if you reside in School Administrative District 72 or in a township of Albany or Chatham, New Hampshire, you may be a tuition-free Academy student. It’s an amazing institution, and if you want to know more, check out their website, which explains their history and more about https://www.fryeburgacademy.org/.

DEAR SUNSPOT: Another way to get rid of rust stains (Nov 16 sunspots) is to use a very fine emery paper, 400 grit or higher, with your cleaning agent. The fine grain of this paper will not harm porcelain and will make the scrubbing process easier. I used it and it works fine. —Cal, Litchfield

RESPONNSE: Excellent advice Cal. You are always on top of things and I appreciate you being such a dedicated reader. Thank you!
