Pet Rescue Saga players can now fundraise for Battersea Dogs Home

A popular mobile game creator has partnered with Battersea Dogs and Cats Home to give their users the chance to raise money for the Rescue Charity.

King partnered with Battersea for a four-week campaign, which began on January 11.

Pet Rescue Saga players in the UK can participate in weekly challenges, each one focused on the work Battersea does.

For every task that players complete, King will donate money to Battersea Cats and Dogs Home.

Battersea COO Rob Young said, “We are delighted to be working with King.

“Every penny given to Battersea as a result of this partnership will go directly to the care of our pets and others across the UK and beyond – so we hope loyal Pet Rescue Saga players take advantage of this opportunity to play for good and help real life dogs and cats in need.

News of the collaboration comes after Battersea released a report on the catastrophic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on dogs and cats.

The report shows that the existence of smaller relief homes is threatened by the pandemic, with more than half seeing their incomes cut by 50% or more.

It also shows that the UK is expected to see an increase of up to 27% in stray cats and dogs over the next five years, exacerbated by impulse buying of pets during national shutdowns.
