Pet Shelter Donation A Team Effort

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) — Instead of asking for birthday gifts for herself this year, Delaney opted to collect Pet Supplies Plus gift cards and use them to buy supplies for pet shelters local.

When Pet Supplies Plus staff learned what Delaney was up to, they gave her an extra discount to buy more items. Helping Delaney was his sister, Ella, and his grandmother Diane.

“We are always inspired when young people forgo their own birthday gifts to request supplies to help our homeless animals instead,” said MAPS Executive Director Karen Rau. “In Delaney’s case, she collected Pet Supplies Plus gift cards because she knew PSP had a wide variety of pet supplies and she wanted to buy the supplies herself.”

“When we heard about what Delaney was doing, we thought it was so special and wanted to help him maximize his gift cards,” said Kim Crawford, Store Team Manager at PSP. “As part of the Marshfield community ourselves, we make it a point to help give back to animals in need locally and it was clearly a great cause to support! What a great kid!

Thanks to Delaney’s birthday donation, MAPS pets will have food, litter, toys and more during their stay.

“We appreciate our partnership with Pet Supplies Plus and the thoughtful discount given to Delaney to purchase more supplies,” Rau added. “A New Pet Checklist information sheet and coupon from PSP are provided with every adoption at MAPS.”
